Week In Review - Ten Things Of Thankful (30)

Ten Things of Thankful

Half of my weekend is over already, time to wrap up this week of tons of things to be thankful for. This weeks top ten:

1. Hubby for cooking delicious veggy chili for me. He's taking so good care of me!

2. Tons of cuddles with the girls on the couch this afternoon.

3. Lily surprising me with her passport picture on Monday. We've had some sort of a situation when she refused to have them taken, claiming to be scared. After no promises (or threats) could change her mind and she announced that she'd rather never travel again, I had a heart on heart with her, firmly telling her that her antics were neither cute nor funny but rather annoying to us. I told her that I loved it so much that she was so understanding and reasonable, and that she didn't need to compete with Violet, who's much younger than her. She double-checked if she'd still get ice cream for dessert, which I confirmed, and Monday she went and got that picture taken. Love this girl  :-)

4. Violet bringing home an absolutely cute gift from kindergarten. So adorable!

5. Jammie pants.

6. Kids who get excited when there's baked salmon and cream spinach for dinner.

7. Home-made apple pie, and the smell that comes with it!

8. Having a boss who cares about my well-being at work. I had major issues with dry eyes before the holidays, to the point that even false tears didn't help any more and I bare could keep my eyes open by 3:30 p.m.  She contacted our corporate medical services to inquire about relief options and will also contact workplace security. Come Monday, we'll implement the first steps.

9. A lazy Saturday that is much more cherished after a busy work week.

10. A wonderful, wonderful friend!

Have a great weekend everyone!

    1. I so love that she's at an age now where you can really sit down and talk to them.

My boss is awesome, so I have a huge green plant right next to my desk now :-)

  2. What a great boss! It's good to know you are seen as a person with real life stuff to deal with, not just a number on a roster. Hope the eyes feel better!

Yay for Lily being a big girl!

    And jammie pants? Always. :)

    Have a great week!

    1. Thanks a lot, Lisa! Trying to keep my spirit up while literally drowning in work. The eyes were fine today, thanks a lot! My boss is really great at taking care of her people. No-one is just a number on a roster, given that we're a fairly small office..

Have a great new week, Lisa!

  3. I love, love, love it when my husband cooks! Both because then I didn't have to, and he's so good at it. I hope your dry eyes get better. I have that problem, but I don't think to that extreme!

    1. It was alright today, thanks, Jennifer! Hubby is a good cook, and sometimes we have to fight for the privilege to cook :-) The eyes were ok today, it's just that darn dry winter air..

      Have a great new week!

  6. Lazy Saturdays are the best and seriously the one day a week I look so forward to be quite honest after the long, crazy weeks here. And yay to getting Lily to get that picture taken. I know from my girls, stubborn sometimes is so hard to deal with! Enjoy the rest of your weekend now :)

    1. It was more of playing baby than being really stubborn, but she saw tha it doesn't get her any positive attention in the end.

This weekend was mostly all-in-all lazy, but I so needed that. There are weekends when I simply cannot sit still and need to do stuff, but not that weekend :-)

Have a great new week, Janine!

  7. My husband is a good cook but I let him only do it once in a while because he makes such a mess!
Good for Lily for being a big girl and good for you for handling it so well!
It's fantastic that your kids get behind salmon and creamed spinach. Myself, I'm all for the creamed spinach but salmon...no can do! My kids love brussels sprouts and asparagus and that always surprises people.
Your boss sounds like a gem and I certainly hope you are on the mend soon!
Lazy Saturdays and great friend....perfect thankfuls to end your list!
    Have a great week, Stephanie!

    1. Lily loves brussel sprouts, too, but it's still too weird for Violet.

My boss is awesome and really takes good care about her people. Got a nice, big, green tree next to my desk that I get to spray every day now :-)

Have a great new week as well, Sandy!

  9. Aw! You sound like you have such a wonderful relationship with your girls! So lovely! I would be happy if my kids loved salmon and creamed spinach as well. I actually worked for the first part of my 1st pregnancy and I remember my boss driving me home one day because I was in such pain. They thought I probably had GERD, which is a form of acid reflux and it's extremely painful. I mean how many bosses do you know will actually drive you home if you feel terribly sick? I thought I was pretty blessed to have had a boss like her. :)

    1. That's a really awesome boss, Brittnei! Luckily, both my pregnancies were very easy on me...

The girls are indeed awesome, and I'm so happy to have them. Lily's getting to a point now where she's so understandable and reasonable most times, so much fun!

Have a great new week, Brittnei!
