Week In Review - Ten Things Of Thankful (110)
I'm still old, I'm quite tired right now, and still promise that I'll produce some proof that indeed, I'm old.. Later.. (is procrastination a sign of old age??). But despite my shortage of free time last week, there are many, many things to be thankful for.
My Ten Thankfuls for this week:
1. Finishing a larger translation project and have the evenings to myself again.
2. Many, many sticky Calvin cuddles.
3. A good thunderstorm to really saturate the ground and bring the temperatures down.
4. Sharing stories of Thor with Lily to make thunderstorms less scary for her.
5. My friend Mamta. She has the most peculiar sense of humor, and I love her so much for that!!
6. A fun afternoon at the movies with the girls and my colleague Sarah.
7. Getting to watch Lily's magic show at her school's summer fest. She did such a great job showing her magic tricks, and Violet even got a confetti shower.
8. Picking my very first home-grown tomato. (no pictures, it was eaten way too quickly)
9. My strawberries spreading as if there was no tomorrow. We have about twice as much strawberry plants as when we planted the first ones. Hoping for tons of fruit next year!
10. Mommy-Daughers-Time, aka: yay, our tow nails are painted!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead!

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for our home-grown produce. It's modest, but still :-)
DeleteFriends, cuddles, thunderstorms, daughters, fresh veggies and fruit...all the wonderful things!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely all the wonderful things. I'm a lucky girl!!
DeleteHave a great week!!
strawberries are so prolific...next year youll be yanking plants! Arent fresh picked tomatoes the best...like candy!
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes, and home-grown are the best. My plant is so prolific, no idea why.. Usually, my thumb is as black as coal ;-) I hope for many yummie berries next year!
DeleteHave a wonderful week, Ivy!
tomatoes are rather satisfying home grown plants, in that they taste different (insightful, I know!… but I tried them a couple of years and I would swear that they taste significantly better than store grown tomatos!)
ReplyDeleteI love home-grown tomatoes. As a kid, I hated the smell of tomato plants, now I love it.. Could spend my afternoon under my giant tomato plant with a book ;-)
DeleteI hope you have a great week, Clark!
We've just started to get ripe tomatoes here. Matt eats them as fast as they turn red so none have made it to the supper table yet. I've got the bacon in the freezer waiting for BLT's.
ReplyDeleteI only had one red tomato so far, but a few more are showing the slightest tinge of reddish, so I hope for more red tomatoes soon! Hope you get your BLT soon, Vanessa :-)
DeleteHave a wonderful week!
Oooo, sticky cuddles from Calvin! The best!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a wonderful week, with movies and magic and thunderstorms and friends.
Be careful what you wish for with those strawberries! My great aunt had a HUGE strawberry bed, but it's a pain (literally!) to bend over and pick them. They're sure delicious, though!
Have a fantastic week.
Oh, yeah, and YOU AREN'T OLD!
I have kids who are more than happy to bend down and pick the berries :-) My goal: home-made strawberry jam from home-grown strawberries. I'll keep you posted :-)
DeleteHave a great week, Dyanne!
Sounds like a great week. I get that old-a-phobia thing going on when I wish I had more energy and my focus is a little off. The gratitude helps. Enjoy the mommy/daughter time, it is priceless.
ReplyDeleteI definitely enjoy my time with the girls, together and individually.. And of course my time with the little boy. I'm not afraid of getting old. Some days, I feel ancient, and on others like a young girl, mostly depending on my sleep :-) Deep down, I feel that age is a question of general attitude towards life.
DeleteHave a wonderful week, Val!
Sounds like a great week to me!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely was, Jen.. Very thankful for so, so many things..
DeleteCongrats on the gardening successes! It's funny how satisfying it is to pick that first fruit of a plant you have taken such care of.
ReplyDeleteNice work, Lily! I've never been any good at magic tricks.
Thanks, Christine, I'm so absolutely proud that my tomato plant seems to like me so much :-) I don't know why I deserve it, but I'm absolutely thankful for it. Not even the big storms we're having have managed to kill it so far..
DeleteLily did such a great job, and she even taught me one trick ;-)
Have a great week, Christine!
