Week In Review - Ten Things of Thankful 27

Ten Things of Thankful

Weekend once more. I've been off the air for a few day due to professional reasons. The translation went well and I'm going to write my first official invoice!! Oh, and I'm planning on spending every single penny of this paycheck, just to celebrate it  :-)

Other things I'm incredibly thankful for this last week:

1. The first snow.

2. Spending an afternoon with Lily shopping and picking out our tree.

3. An awesome friend who invited us to the Cinderella musical she performs in. Next best thing to The Nutcracker if you're a little girl I'd say  :-)

4. Tons and tons of baking with the girls.

5. Finally been able to organize a D&D game again.

6. Hubby not getting hurt when he fell down the ladder this afternoon.

7. Having sent out all the holiday presents State-wards.

8. Spending my lunch-break with an Irish Cream Latte, writing holiday cards.

9. Cinnamon cookies. SO delicious!

10. Preparing dinner with the girls, and enjoying tons and tons for fresh roasted veggies.

Even though I was gone most of last week, I'll still take off tomorrow. Another Alien movie has arrived, which means date time!!  Have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. Ah, the first snow - definitely not something we get around Christmas time here in the south-west of Australia (or any time of year for that matter!) Irish cream lattes and cinnamon cookies sound so yum!

  2. Enjoy your date :) I'm glad your hubby wasn't hurt, but that must've been scary!

It sounds as though you're getting really well prepared for Christmas - well done you! I'm SO behind!

    1. The thing is, I was gone shopping and hubby alone with Violet. He's a little sore, but otherwise not hurt. But it was plenty scary even when he told me (even though the description of him hanging there with his feet dangling was somewhat funny).

I like to be done shopping early, just hate stores the week before the holidays :-)

  3. I bake with my 4-year-old too. So much fun! And she's getting better at it by the month which is fun too! Roasted veggies are awesome. And cinnamon cookies sound wonderful. Now I'm hungry again!

    1. The other day, our three-year old whipped the egg white all by herself. Did a great job, and she was so proud!! Sometimes it's challenging baking with not only one but twoo little kids, but it's a great lesson in patience, and fun :-)

    1. It was a great show, now Lily is planning her own musical, Snow White :-)

The cookies are indeed yummie! Made them the first time, and they are so great :-)

We have yet to get a tree or buy gifts or send out cards. This week, I'm getting busy. with a capital B-U-S-Y!
    Have a lovely day!

    1. I sure will, Kate! Our snow didn't stay, and now it's around 40 again, which is good for the house...

      Have a great new week!

  8. I guess having to ship gifts to the US would motivate you to get your shopping done early, but wow! The Cinderella musical sounds like wonderful fun (I'm a big Nutcracker fan, too; my daughter danced in it for two years with the Moscow Ballet when they came to town to perform it). Christmas trees, cookies, snow. All good things!

    1. It definitely does. There has been a year when I sent out the boxes around Thanksgiving, and they arrived on December 24!! Let me tell you about nerves!!

We'd love to see the Nutcracker, too, one year. In the meantime, Cinderella was a really nice substitute! Wow, your daughter danced with the Moscow Ballet, that's awesome! I think that's the ensemble that tours in Germany as well..

  9. "Hubby not getting hurt when he fell down the ladder this afternoon."

yow! major good outcome of an event that rarely offers one. Speaking from painful experience, it is nearly impossible to fall off a later without some physical negative vibes! lol very good list to read...

    1. He was sore for a couple of days, but not hurt otherwise.. I'm really, really thankful for that!! But he recovered soon and did what I love him to death for: making me laugh with a description of him hanging on the ledge of the attic with his feet dangling and then misjudging the hight and falling right on his bum.. HAd I seen it, I bet I would have been scared to death!!

  10. Oh man, what a great list Stephanie! I am so jealous of your organization! I am just getting to your post on Sunday evening for a reason! AHEM! I just want to go sledding!

    1. I'm not organized, I just start as soon as the winter sale is on in March.. Can't any better deals! And one of the toy stores around here always has a 20% off sale on everything on late November, which helps, too! Sledding is so much fun, can't wait to hit the hill with the girls :-)

  11. SNOW - Dreamy! We never get snow in Nigeria, I will get to see it though, at some point, eventually.

    1. A few years ago we had colleagues from Nigeria here in winter.. But for some reason they did not seem too impressed by it. I'm sure you'll see it eventually, it's soo much fun, and it turns me into a 5-year old every year :-)
