Week In Review - Ten Things Of Thankful (65)
Today was bazaar day. I was selling the clothes Lily and Violet have outgrown to clear out our storage and let me tell you, I am so exhausted. Calvin is, too, and is currently sleeping peacefully besides me. Can't wait to head to bed shortly, so looking forward to SLEEP!
But before I call it a day, here are my 10 thankfuls for this week:
1. Lily feeling better again after catching a stomach bug, running a fever and throwing up on Friday. Even though she's still resting a lot, she's keeping her food down and is fever-free.
2. Violet being a big help these days. She's really happy proving to us that she's a big girl.
3. Afternoon naps with Calvin.
4. A good, hot shower after an exhausting, muggy day.
5. Making good sales at the bazaar today, even though I encountered a few people who were of the mind that they were doing me a favor taking the clothes off my hand and almost expected me to pay them (I'm sorry, I won't sell you a brand-new dress for a euro!!).
6. Stuffed zucchini shared with friends.
7. Getting to celebrate Lily's first day of school and that so far she truly enjoys going to class. She's very good at doing her homework and insisted on going to her classroom by herself this Friday (we are walking to school since there is no school bus).
8. Good friends. Can't buy them for money, because they are invaluable.
9. Hubby for doing computer stuff for me that I have not yet bothered to learn even though it's probably incredibly easy.
10. For new doors opening as others close.
Hope you all have a great new week!

I'm glad Lily is feeling better now. It seems like when school starts, the illnesses do, too.
ReplyDeleteHurray for new doors opening!
I am, too, Kristi! In the past month there were just too many doors opening for a quick glance and then closing again, but this finally feels right and I hope that for once everything goes as planned. It seems that Lily is over the stomach bug for good now. Have a great week, Kristi!
Deleteso I read at the Doctrine that your house is also looking livable now! sounds great! and youre making more room in there as well... dont you love to rid yourself of the old stuff?
ReplyDeleteYes, it is, Zoe! And I could kick myself for not purging before the move. Things would have been so much easier and our place would look more organized now. But better late than neve :-) Have a wonderful new week!
DeleteLOVE your list my friend!! So glad your sweetie is feeling better, and that you got so much done with all the clean out stuff. That's always exhausting to accomplish. Afternoon naps and hot showers are my faves...
ReplyDeleteAnd computer stuff ain't ever easy! My husband does all sorts of my tech stuff. I'll never get it. Never.
Well, the computer stuff is really easy stuff like downloading my translating program and install it on the computer, but I'm always scared that I mess it up and something bad happens :-) Luckily, Lily is doing fine again, obviously, she has inherited my "pig's stomach" (German colloquial term for a very healthy and resistant digestive system). Enjoy the new week, Chris!!
Deletetotally with you on #8 close friends are beyond value
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are, Clark! So important that I gladly lose a few hours of sleep in favor of talking to them on the phone :-)
DeleteGlad Lily is feeling better - it makes me so sad when my little one is not feeling well.
ReplyDeleteBig girls...naps...hot showers...that's a big list right there. I am still taking full advantage of this work at home stuff and grabbing a daily nap. Is that wrong? If it is, I don't want to be right...haha.
I am always happy when my Hub handles the computer stuff I can't be bothered to learn. Handy having a resident tech geek in the house!
Napping is never wrong, I'd totally do it, too, but unfortunately don't find the time every day.. In the morning, I usually tell myself that I'm going to take a nap, but suddenly it's 5pm and time to make dinner :-) Hope you have a wonderful new week, Lisa!
DeleteOw! Glad Lily is better after the stomach bug hit!! I know how painful those are. Glad the rest of the week was good!
ReplyDeleteWe are relieved as well that she's doing fine again. I should add a number 11: I'm thankful for Lily's robust digestive system, because according to the doctor, this stomach bug going around is pretty mean.. Enjoy the new week, Michelle!
DeleteToo funny that someone though you should pay them to take your clothes. People are funny. I'm so glad your daughter is feeling better. Those newborn naps always sound so special. I'm looking forward to getting that chance to have those again. :)
ReplyDeleteThey didn't actually think that, Brittnei, it was just a littly sarcasm on my side. If someone offers me a euro for a brand-new piece of clothing, they could as well ask me to pay them for taking it off my hands. We are glad Lily got off the stomach bug wagon easily. She's been resting more than usual this weekend but kept all her food down. Enjoy your pregnancy and the baby once s/he's here!
DeleteWhat a great list. Glad your little one is on the mend and good friends are indeed priceless
ReplyDeleteWe are also glad that Lily's doing fine again and the explosive diarrhea the doctor predicted did not hit :-) Have a nice week!
DeleteI always look forward to reading your lists! :) They make me smile.
ReplyDeleteAdding thankful no. 12: Making Jen smile :-) I hope you have a wonderful new week, my dear friend!
DeleteI have to admit, I'm not even comfortable simply downloading and installing a program on my computer, especially since this one was an important (and expensive) program. Yay for hubby :-) Have a great new week, Lizzi!!
ReplyDelete"Violet being a big help these days. She's really happy proving to us that she's a big girl."
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of my sweet niece, who helped me crack some wheat a few weeks ago. Then I wished that my own children were that eager to help. Ah well... they do have some wonderful strengths in slightly different areas ;-)
Exactly! And they are not always that helpful :-) Have a great new week!
DeleteYour list is full of some fantastic things Stephanie! Glad to read that Lily is feeling better now after being so sick and that you made some good sales with the second-hand clothes despite the rude people :) Those stuffed zucchini sound so yum!
ReplyDeleteOhh, those stuffed zucchini were cheese-extravaganza, Lizzy! This one's hubby can COOK!! :-) Hope you and your kids have a wonderful week!
DeleteGreat list! Hubby is my tech support too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm almost embarrassed having to rely on the poor lad for simple things like downloading a program and installing it. One day, I'll try it, but not with a €120 program, would hate to mess up that much money :-) Thank you for stopping by, Vicky!
DeleteDoors opening, doors closing. I sense a post coming up pretty soon about those doors!
ReplyDeleteLove that the girls are helpful big sisters. Glad Lily is feeling better and hope no one else in the family catches her flu bug - ick! Snuggle that sweet baby boy for me!
I so, so hope that there's going to be a post about doors, soon! Actually, we all - except the boy - are sick right now. Luckily no stomach bug (4 people and 2 bathrooms would pose a problem sooner or later) but the common cold in varying degrees. Luckily, we're all getting over it already and Calvin is healthy as could be. Have a great week, Dyanne!
