Yes, it's true, we're about to take another trip over the pond to visit hubby's family in San Antonio, TX before welcoming our third little one and Lily starting elementary school later this year. We'll arrive at Houston Intercontinental Airport on April 22, driving down to San Antonio the next morning.

I know that some of you have taken trips to the area before, so please share your advice what to do in the area with two little ones to escape the family compound for an afternoon or more. I'm looking forward to your tips!

  1. I am on the East Coast, but do have a friend of the family that actually was born and raised here in NY, but moved a few years back to San Antonio and loves it there. Can't wait to hear all about it from you and so exciting that you are getting to go visit in less then a month now!! :)

    1. We've been to San Antonio twice before, since Richard's parents live there now. I'm still a Seattle girl at heart, but won't make it back "home" there this time :-(

  2. Happy Traveling! You will only be about 7 hours from me. :)

    1. I know :-) You'Ve been down there last summer, right? Trying to figure out things to keep us all busy so I won't be stuck on the family compound all sober :-)

  3. Yay for Texas!! We live right outside Austin & I'm quite familiar with San Antonio so I'll email you some fun things to do!

    1. Oh please do!! The pool at the inlaw's won't be fixed by the time we get there, so my biggest item on the list (not mentioned, but it's actually spending at least the first three to four days with my feet hanging in the pool reading a good book and sipping rooibos sun tea until major cabin fever hits) won't be happening quite like that. So we're definitely looking for alternatives :-)
