I'm linking up once again with Ashley for the Sunday Social, this week featuring one of my hobbies, food!
1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
CHEESE. Hands down. There are so many different varieties, and they all taste so different; I just love cheese (even though my life on a diet of cheese only would not last very long I guess... ).

My guilty pleasure would be dark chocolate ice cream. In serving sizes of a pint, please! My favorite comfort food is the good old spaghetti and tomato sauce. This one never fails to lift my mood!

Probably shark. I know, it's not über-exotic, but I don't eat stuff like snails or absolutely gross stuff. But when I found shark steak on the menue of this restaurant in Bulgaria (I was 12 or so), I just couldn't help but bite the Great White One back ;-)

Anything that contains dead land animals. So whenever we are out and are served soup, I need to inquire if it's based on beef or veggie stock (and being where we are, it usually is beef). There have been instances where I was hungry enough that I have not asked the question and just told myself that it's probably veggie-based. The benefit of the doubt ;-)
5. What meal reminds you of your childhood.
Again, spaghetti with tomato sauce. My dad made the best, until he decided that I was old enough to cook myself and didn't make it any more..
6. Share your favorite recipe and the story behind it.
There's this chocolate cake recipe. I have the recipe from my M-I-L; she made it the first time for me when she was visiting when I was about 4 months pregnant with Lily; instant addiction, I tell you. Hubby, the good soul he is, made me some while being in labor several months later, which was probably the last thing I really enjoyed before having our first baby. It's been a constant family favorite for short-notice visits, birthday-parties, or just to calm the occasional chocolate cake craving.
I'd like to send you all off into the new week with this absolutely awesome new find in the area of guitar music. Let me know what you think!
Have a GREAT week, everyone!
Cheese is a good one! I feel like I could eat cheese for the rest of my life too! That chocolate cake recipe sounds amazing! I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for your suggestions! I will definitely try Yum Yum soup if I get the chance!!
Suzy @ Happy Wife, Happy Life
You definitely should try Yum Yum soup. That's one reason why I like winter, it tasts much better then!
DeleteIf you try the chocolate cake, let me know how you like it! In the holiday season, I oftentimes add some cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, etc. to get it a holiday taste ;-)
Thank you so much for stopping by, Suzy!
Mmm cheese! One of my faves too!
ReplyDeleteHubby just bought a huge junk of white soft cheese for me. I'll probably go and get a piece in a minute. Thanks a lot for stopping by!!
DeleteShark! Is it good? I had someone tell me it tastes like chicken? Stopping by from the link up :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I was VERY young, it was about 15 to 20 years ago. I don't really remember how it tasted, but I do remember that I didn't like it that much.
DeleteThank you so much for stopping by, Danae!
That is so weird! Shark is our fish-and-chips fish for the most part in Victoria, Australia, but I always do think of it as a little bit of pay-back. We call it flake and it mostly comes from gummy sharks rather than Great Whites which I believe, for some crazy reason, are protected (like they need it!). And then it seems sad coz gummy sharks sound like they have no teeth!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO funny!! I don't really know which fish they use for our fish and chips, but I'm sure it's not shark. I also don't think that my shark was a Great White, but as a kid, you like that idea ;-) Great Whites are protected, and a lot of others as well, because especially the Asians hunt them like crazy for their fins. Some sharks are threatened by extinction because of that. Gummy sharks, sounds like candy ;-)
DeleteShark is pretty exotic to me! I think the most exotic thing I've ever had is spinach haha!
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet you've eaten something more exotic like spinach... Mexican or Chinese buffet anyone?? (cravings are forming here..)
DeleteYes, cheese is awesome. And now, I must go find some!
ReplyDeleteJust had some yummie Caprese salad with tomatoes and mozarella cheese, love it!! Hope you got some great cheese at home as well!
