Week In Review - Ten Things Of Thankful (10)
It's weekend again, I'm on a unvoluntary break, because the sickness completely got me. But still, there were plenty of things to be thankful for last week:
1. Once again: the hubby, for taking care of me while being sick and right now hosting the traditional "Richtfest" (after the roof is completed). He's absolutely not comfortable doing stuff like that, but he still is, since I have to stay in bed for the weekend.
2. Sleep. Since I have to keep to the bed, I've caught up on weeks and weeks of work.
3. Coworkers, who encourage me to stay home to get fit again and are willing to fill in for me at work.
4. A doctor who doesn't blast me with whatever the chemical industry has in store but carefully weighs the options and rather prescribe natural remedies instead of chemical medication.
5. The girls, who are also wonderfully supportive and let me stay in bed all day.
6. Lily, for drawing a new picture for me every single day last week.
7. For the power situation at the house being solved - for now. The power box on the other side of the road is going to be installed on Wednesday.
8. Tea. Nothing to add ;-)
9. Doctor Seuss, ingenious! I'm going to watch "The Lorax" with the girl this weekend!!
10. Soup, to keep me warm and helps me to eat at least a little bit.
Thanks so much for hosting once again, Lizzi!

Aww, Stephanie I am so hoping you are feeling better very soon and once this cold is gone I am so taking my flu shot, because I seriously do not want to get the flu this year myself. Sounds like your family is taking good care of you though and happy to hear that.
ReplyDeleteI might take mine this year, too, even though I've heard that the side effects are almost as bad as the flu itself, but I'll try it anyways.
DeleteThe family is taking very good care of me, hope yours does too! Get better soon, Janine!!
Sorry to hear that you're sick, but still were able to find 10 things to be thankful for...nicely done! Hope you get to feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks alot! Even if I'm sick, there are so many other things going on. And right now, I experience how much support I get when I need it.
DeleteI love "green eggs and ham, spam I am". :) Dr Seuss brings back memories. Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteI love Doctor Seuss. I've only learned about it when I had kids myself, so I'm still in the progress of building memories of Dr. Seuss ;-) Thanks for stopping by, Michelle!
DeleteHow wonderful that, even though you were so sick, you were able to find the strength and the optimism to find so many positives during the week. I'm also a fan of tea, Dr Seuss and being drawn pictures :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Lizzy! There were definitely plenty of things to be thankful for, even though I was sick (or maybe even because of it..).
DeleteHave a great weekend, Lizzy!
So glad you were able to rest up and get to feeling better! I think sometimes illnesses like that purposely occur to slow us down a nudge. I love that feeling of getting lots of work done and when I'm home with a sick little man, I so appreciate the folks at work that keep me in the loop.
ReplyDeleteHope you have fun watching The Lorax! And that you feel 100% soon!
Kate
Thanks a lot, Kate! I hope to feel well enough to go back to work tomorrow, fiscal year end is upon us ;-) But to be honest, I really needed the time-out. I don't remember when I last got so much sleep in ;-)
DeleteHave a great weekend, Kate!
what an absolute bummer. Hope you're up and around feeling better soon. Bed rest is so frustrating but you sound like you have some great support. Get Well quick!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Zoe, I hope to be back at work tomorrow, or Tuesday at the latest. I was actually not bothered by the bed rest so much, sleeping whenever I felt like it, reading, knitting, and more sleeping..
DeleteHave a great weekend, Zoe!
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you are still sick! (I have no idea how I wasn't following you before, but I am now.) I'm glad your family and coworkers are being so good to you while you are down.
ReplyDeleteI hope next week's thankful post will start out "I'm thankful I am feeling good as new!"
Get well soon, Stephanie!
Thanks a lot for your support (and the following), Christine! I am slowly feeling better, hoping to be back to work tomorrow, or Tuesday at the latest... My coworker's support is awesome, but missing all the work, not so much fun..
DeleteHope to start next week's list like that, Christine ;-)
hope you get well soon... bed rest can be fun/enjoyable until the 'novelty' wears off (or you simply get better) and then it's kind of a drag.
ReplyDeletesounds like you have a supportive home-place which is about as good as it gets when you get sick.
Well, I interpret the bed-rest fairly loosely, staying somewhere around the bed and venturing out once to vote.
DeleteI definitely have tons of support on all fronts right now, but hope to be back at work tomorrow!
Have a great weekend, Clark!
I'm impressed that you got a post written while sick. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too, Kristi! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
DeleteI do hope you recover quickly - and that you enjoy Dr Seuss with your girls :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I slept through most of Dr. Seuss ;-) But I enjoyed cuddling with the girls.
DeleteThanks a lot for stopping by, Katy!
Thanks a lot, Lizzi! Being sick sucks, even though I don't remember a time when I have slept so much. I hope to emerge from that refreshed somehow..
ReplyDeleteHubby and the girls are definitely a great support. Missy Violet dragged her comforter from her bedroom into the living room for me, SO cute!!
Hope you have a great weekend, Lizzi, and thanks for stopping by!
Sorry you are still feeling so poorly. But how blessed you are to have such a wonderful support system! I hope you begin to feel better.
ReplyDeleteDr. Seuss is totally ingenious! Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and The Sneeches were staples at my house! Not to mention The Grinch as well! Awesome stuff every kid should get to enjoy!
Went to work today, BIG mistake, but at least the special someone is well instructed on what to do (and what not). Probably going to be home for the next two days or so though.
DeleteThank you for stopping by, and I hope you had a great strt into this new week!
Writing a list of things you're thankful for while you're sick is fabulous! Good for you, and I hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Jennifer! Just because I'm not feeling my best doesn't mean that there's nothing to be thankful for. Now more than when everything's going great!
DeleteYou've been sick for over a week? You poor thing! I'm glad you've had a good support system to help you (and your family) get through this. Hope you're getting well-rested and are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteGoing to hit the hay in just a few minutes, and it's only 8:15pm.. Need it so badly though! Thanks for stopping by, Dyanne!
DeleteHope you're feeling better. I sometimes 'enjoy' that when I am sick, I can just rest in bed all day and not feel guilty!
ReplyDeleteI definitely got plenty of rest, but I still feel guilty if the weather is nice outside but both hubby and I are too sick to take out the girls to play. On doc-ordered break till Friday!
DeleteSorry you don't feel well! Hope your will be on the upswing soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Joy, working on improvement ;-)
