Week in Review - Ten Things Of Thankful (6)

Last week wasn't the best for me. I had troubles in the sleep department, was feeling under the weather a lot and couldn't quite focus at work. Since Friday, I have the first sinus infection of the season, yay...  The gift that keeps on giving. I'm really thinking about getting the surgery done soon, so I won't have another cold season like this past fall/winter. But this morning, I finally got to sleep in, and I'm feeling much better. Despite the lack of sleep and the cold, there are still plenty of things this week to be thankful for:

1. Our house making great progress; the roof beans should be put up sometime next week!

2. The hubby being simply the best. He usually is, but this week he's been especially awesome, for no special reason.

3. Tiramisu

4. Good nerves; definitely needed them at work this week.

5. Getting showered with beutifully colored pictures from Lily all week long.

6. Having a library at work.

7. Lily's tooth patiently waiting for me to finally make her the pillow before falling out (somtime within the next 1 or 2 weeks or so).

8. Fish and Chips for dinner!

9. A great run earlier this week, and the feeling that I can indeed complete the run on the 6th. Plus a friend potentially running with me!

10. A friend returning from her trip to the USA next week. We have only met once before, but already can't wait to intensify that new friendship.

Thank you so much for hosting again, Lizzi!

    1. Thanks, Michelle! We have a store that has the best tiramisu outside Italy (or one of the Italian restaurants we have here). The bad thing is that it's hard to stop eating ;-)

  3. Sorry to hear you've been feeling crummy. It is amazing how the amount of sleep we get affects our health sometimes, for the good and the bad.
You made a pillow for the lost tooth? How sweet! Perhaps if I made one, our tooth fairy would actually remember to come. :)
I hope your friend decides to run with you. As with so many things, running is just easier when running with a friend. Good luck in the race!

    1. I totally agree! The weird thing is, I feel like having had plenty of sleep, but by early afternoon at the latest, I'm so tired again these days, despite the great weather. Maybe it takes a little longer for the medications to really regulate things..

I haven't made the pillow yet, but at least I've bought all the fabric. I hope it won't end up becoming a disaster ;-)

I also hope he runs with me. It would definitely boost my confidence having someone with me I know. I'll see.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

    1. The pictures were definitely awesome! Lily's getting so good at coloring, and she always tries to make it as true to life if possible (except this one time when Ariel and Prince Eric both had purple skin) :-)

  5. I'm glad you got some sleep, lovely list. So good that your husband is nice to you, always like you said but specially this week since you were not feeling your best, yay for that! Have a great week and feel better.

  6. Oh how I know what you mean about being under the weather. I've had on and off spells, and sleepless nights are not so fun. I hope you have a better week next week! There's lots to be thankful for. =0)

    1. Thanks a lot, Kim! I caught a cold from the little one, which manifested itself as sinus infection again, as usual. Hate it! Got plenty of sleep this weekend, thankfully!

  7. A wonderful list of the little blessings that make life so worth living and keep us going when it's not easy. Papa Bear would totally agree with you on #3, he loves tiramisu, and I'm with you on #4... every week is a week like that where I work - good people, but stressful situations and a ridiculous work load. Wishing you a week ahead where you feel better, things run smoothly, and that tooth times it's appearance perfectly! :-)

    1. Thanks a lot for stopping by, Josie! I totally see you with your description of your work, even though right now, it's not too much work but one colleague, who's becoming increasingly annoying every day. But there are definitely stressful days ahead for me ;-)

  8. I HATE sinus infections! They make your whole face hurt. Have you ever tried using a netty pot? It helps flush your sinuses out, even though it's kind of (okay, a lot) disgusting. Glad you're finally feeling better. Hope that tooth hangs in there a little longer! My kids had a tooth fairy pillow that was shaped like a fairy (store-bought, gift from mother in law). We hardly ever remembered to use it, though.

    1. Sinus infection are horrible, it sometimes feels as if my eyes would pop out any second. When I get sick, it's sinus infections 95% of the time, because my nasal septum is deviated. Surgery is definitely in my future, because it's getting worse every year, but I can't get myself to leaving the girls for a couple of nights..

I hope that we remember using the pillow, once I actually sit down to make it ;-)

  9. "tiramisu" thank god for the internet! I saw the word and the first thing that cam to mind was squid!*

Sounds like a good dessert food.
The running thing I admire, much as I would mountain climbers... I can appreciate the physical and mental discipline and can imagine it would be cool to do...but no way! lol

sleep is a funny thing, I find too much to be as bad as too little sometimes, glad that you are back in a more positive sleep rhythm.

speaking of pastry... join us tomorrow! ..on the Video Brunch... you can eat pastry and talk with virtual friends!

    1. It's an awesome dessert, I LOVE it! Hubby and I can finish a whole pack in one sitting, even thoug we definitely shouldn't ;-)

Too much is definitely not good either. I hate afternoon naps past 4 o'clock, because I will drag for the rest of the day and then not be able to sleep at night. I'll try to go to bed early tonight, so I'm all rested for a new week.. not..

Sorry I didn't make it to the video brunch, didn't wake up until after 11 ;-)

  10. Thanks a lot, Lizzi! We took it slow today, after more activity then planned happened yesterday!

Do you have a really good tiramisu recipe? If so, please share! I usually buy it because I'm lazy and a glutton ;-)

  11. Catching up on sleep is delicious. I know there are all these "studies" that say you can't, but I'd love to prove them wrong trying!

    Fish and chips. Yes.

    1. It definitely is. I don't know if it's actually "catching up" on sleep, but for once sjust getting the sleep I need, and then some ;-)

  15. Blah, sorry you had such a crummy week. However, I am happy you were able to find many things to be grateful for during all the hubdrub (<-- hmm that isn't a word I guess, but I mean it to stand for crud/mess lol)

My sleeping is already terrible, but if sick I'm the biggest baby in the world. Thankfully I don't get sinus infections, cause if I am stuffed up I can't sleep. I panic >.<

I love tiramisu! In fact, thinking about it makes me want to mosey on down to the grocery store and buy some >.> Thanks a lot! I haven't been hitting the gym for 2 weeks! You're going to kill me :-)

Of course you can do the run, because you are a BAMF! I hope your friend is able to join you.

I also hope this week is panning out to be a lot better than the last.

    1. Go get some tiramisu, and have a plate for me ;-)

I'm a baby, too, once fever sets in, I just completely crumble then, hate being sick. Have an appointment with a specialist next week; would not want to have another winter like last!

Thank you so much for stopping by, Jak!!
