After this week, I really, really contemplated to make a sacastic list. But to be honest, this recap of last week is way too precious for me to be spoiled with some of the negative things that have happened last week. So, here are once again ten things I am thankful for this week:
1. The hubby. I know, I mentioned him last week, and actually, being thankful for him and our girls is a given for me all the time, I have the need to mention him again this week. He has been such a wonderful support after my less-than-pleasant conversation with my coworker on Thursday.
2. All the wonderful people who have offered their support throughout the week!
3. My boss being back. Certain colleagues do not act out any more and I actually can focus and get work done.
4. My coworker bringing me his second copy of the 2014 IKEA catalog. I am such a crazy IKEA fan, and with moving into a new house sometimes between December and February (hopefully), we'll need new stuff. IKEA, here we come!!
5. Hubby's final visa arriving this week. No more making sure we don't miss a deadline, now he's with us for good!
6. A postcard arriving from Australia
7. The library at my work.
8. The good feeling of helping others.
9. Red wine
10. Cuddly girls in my bed in the mornings
Thank you so much for hosting, Lizzi!!
Oh, nine and ten are good. Not at the same time, of course! :) Glad you have people in your support circle to get you through stuff like rude co-workers.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lisa! Cuddles and wine, love both.. If I had to pick one, cuddles win all the time ;-) I am also thankful for all the support I received, from my friends online and offline!
DeleteThey definitely are, Lizzi! About to link up, haven't done it before because I actually wrote the post last night, knowing that today would be busy ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting, Lizzi!
So glad you didn't let the bad things from the week ruin your positive spirit. I'm glad you put your husband on the list every week. I like hearing about happy married couples!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your husband's paperwork is all done and he gets to stay.
And nothing better than cuddles. I just wish that the cuddles the little boys give when they come in our room early in the morning didn't turn into nosebleeds and head butts from all of their rolling around after 30 seconds of cuddling. :)
I am actually surprised, Christine ;-) I had started making a sarcastic "thankful" list in my head, and it was SOOO easy. But then again, this link-up is not about re-living the crappy moments, but being thankful for even the tiniest good ones!
DeleteOhh, the nosebleeds ;-) Violet "butted" me into the face once, and then was scared to tears when I was running to the bathroom dripping blood. But I agree, cuddles are the best!
Sorry you've had such a rough week, but like you said it's great you went through with the thankful and not sarcastic.
ReplyDeleteIt's sweet your husband was there for you and that he is now "yours" forever with his visa.
I have to admit I always find it odd you like your boss so much, it's just so different from the seemingly normal reaction people have with bosses.
I've been to IKEA a few times and I'm usually underwhelmed by their stock. Maybe I just don't have the fashion sense, or something, but I don't like a lot of the product and layouts. BUT, it is decently priced and so when furnishing a new place it's pretty sweet. Plus, the one here has a restaurant (cafeteria like) inside. Are they all like that?
Can never go wrong with cuddles!
Thanks for all your kind words earlier on my TToT. I hope your coming week is equally as better!
Jak at The Cryton Chronicles & Dreams in the Shade of Ink
Thanks a lot, Jak! The visa was not really about staying or leaving this time, more about nt having to renew his visa every couple of years. One less thing to remember ;-)
DeleteMy boss is just great, there's no reason for me not to like her. So far, I rarely ever had any troubles with a boss so far.
I like the mostly simple furniture IKEA sells, and that theoretically, you can add to the stuff you have because their lines complement each other. It is getting tricky if they discontinue a color though ;-)
Hope you have a great new week as well, Jak!
Australia? sounds like an interesting Postcard-opp!
ReplyDeleteAlthough these bloghops are sorta postcards from around the world too ('cept without the stamp) (and maybe the not-being-card-board) and... (also not-being-leave-on-your-desk-at-work-for-others-to-be-impressed-byable)
Number 5 sounds totally huge, in the sense of eliminating a source (large or small) of stress in life.
cool.
My best friend is taking a trip through Australia this summer, as her sister is going to have an internship there. Love getting post cards from all over the world, since I cannot travel that much any more these days, I live shamelessly through others ;-)
DeleteThe visa is more an elimination of stress than really changing anything. It's his final, unlimited and unconditional visa; so far, his visa was always limited for a year or two, and we had to remember to go back and apply for an extension each time.
I, too, loves the cuddles and most nights it is Lily who will cuddle with me to no end. And so happy that your husband was there for you when you needed this week with your co-worker. And I too love IKEA's furniture and we do own enough of it here. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and here is to another great week coming up now!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's Violet who does most of the cuddling, too.
DeleteNext week can only be better than last, even though I don't want to challenge it ;-) But I have some fun plans; hoping for the best ;-)
Haha, I love red wine, too. Your list is really fun! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt#s known to the girls as "happy juice" ;-)
DeleteI HATE it when people act up just because the boss is gone. Fortunately, that doesn't happen where I work, but it has in previous jobs.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy going in IKEA, but there isn't one within 300 miles of me. I like the part at the end, after you've walked through all the furniture.
Enjoy the cuddling. They become sharp-elbowed teenagers before you know it.
Hope this week turns out better for you!
I do, too! I'm so glad the boss is back and certain elements brought back on track!
DeleteIKEA is great, I have one about 20 or 30 minutes from here. Definitely going to take a trip there sometime in September!
Time is flying way too quickly. Just want to stop it, and keep my cute little babies. Can't imagine them as teenagers!
I love IKEA. And I commend you for doing a "for-real" thankful rather than a sarcastic one. Sucks when people mess up our weeks and great job on being the bigger, wiser, more thankful person.
ReplyDeleteBeing a very sarcastic person in general, it is close to my character just to go all out sarcatic, but then again, I want to keep that side out of this link-up, because being thankful, even for the small things, is such an enrichment to life, and something we're definitely teaching the girls to appreciate.
DeleteI totally agree with #10! And supportive husbands should be in the list every week, I am glad yours is one of them!
ReplyDeleteCuddle are indeed the best. I so enjoy the weekends when I don't have to get up and just stay in bed, cuddle the girls ;-) Hubby wa such a support this week, I'm glad he takes my concerns serious.
DeleteNo need to apologize for having your husband on your list each week. Happy for you both that his visa is in!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad, too! I was getting nervous, because his bridge-visa would have ran out next week. Now we're done, unless he decides to take the citizenship one day ;-)
DeleteAh, yes, red wine! Always something to be thankful for. :)
ReplyDeleteBrigid
P.s. Thanks for stopping by The Pink Roller Coaster and leaving such a nice comment!
I definitely appreciate my nightly glass of Macedonian red ;-)
DeleteNothing to thank me for, Brigid, you three are an amazing family!
I meant to link up earlier, but then life happened ;-)
ReplyDeleteI loved #8, I've found time and again that when I am at my lowest and don't think life could get much worse, if I refocus myself and do something, anything at all, to brighten someone else's day, I begin to feel better myself! I have had some really rough weeks with coworkers in the past, thankfully the main problem is no longer in the picture. You have my sympathies, and hopes for much better week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind word, Josie! For me, the "helping others to help myself" principle definitely applies ;-) It's getting better again at work, since our boss is back, discipline is improving as well!
DeleteIt's terrible of me, considering the lovely things on your list, but the first thing I focused on was #7!
ReplyDeleteYou have a library in your workplace?
How lucky you are!
And how green with envy I've now become! Lol
I do like the rest of your list though - hubbies and children are such a blessing, aren't they? :)
How many books has your library got?
Can you take them home with you?
Can I come and work there?
Would they let me be the librarian, do you think?
Lol
Yes, I do have a library at work, and it's totally awesome. It's free, no late fees, a well-stacked children's section.. One more reaso never to quit ;-)
DeleteI don't know how many books they have, but it's a good mix of everything. Wished the English section was a bit bigger though ;-) We can actually take them home, like a regular library. They have DVDs, audio books, and magazines as well!! Oh, I'm pretty sure that they'd let you be a librarian there, it's run by volunteers only ;-)
Yes, I definitely like my company!
