Weekend Recap - Ten Things of Thankful Continued
We had such a wonderful weekend that another recap is in order or Ten Things of Thankful (a two-day link-up is great!). Today, I am tremendously thankful for:
1. The great birthday party I was invited to attend yesterday.
2. A perfect Caipirinha.
3. Hubby volunteering to drive home.
4. Getting to sleep in... somewhat.
5. Central heating.
6. A good, long phone conversation with my mom.
7. Alternative plans as the weather did not cooperate to go the the open air museum.
8. Veggie stew.
9. A fun family outing to the movies.
10. Peppermint tea to soothe my throat (willing myself not to get sick again!)
Have a great Monday tomorrow!!

I miss #6 so much! There was nothing better than long conversations with my Mom.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, Jen. I usually don't get along with my mom that well, so it was definitely a good conversation.
Delete...and I get to get in a 'First Comment'! yes, I would say that you have done rather well with your weekend. lol
ReplyDeleteSorry, Clark, close second... It was indeed a great weekend, especially since the aspirin kept the hang-over at bay ;-)
DeleteHope the peppermint tea works! (And what is a Caipirinha?)
ReplyDeletePeppermint tea did its trick, thanks, Kristi! A Caipirinha is a cocktail made from raw sugar, limes, crushed ice and a Brazilian rum. So yummie!
DeleteFingers crossed that the peppermint tea did the trick! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot!! Feeling better already ;-)
Deleteyay for two lists in one weekend! (A two-day hop is great, isn't it?)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun at the party. I have no idea what a Caipirinha is. (And apparently neither does my spell check) :)
Just lots of goodness all around. Don't get sick again, and have a lovely week!
Love the two-day hop! A Caipirinha is a cocktail made with raw sugar, limes, crushed ice, and a Brazilian rum (Cachaca), one of my favorite drinks, if made right and not toned down with bitter lemon..
DeleteFeeling better already, maybe my airways didn't like being exposed to cigarette smoke all night long ;-)
Great to hear you had such a wonderful weekend, Stephanie! What movie did you all go and see? Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball 2? It's the only kids movie I can think of at the moment. Besides Turbo.
ReplyDeletePlease don't get sick again! Don't ask to not get sick, but be thankful that you aren't!
Jak at The Cryton Chronicles & Dreams in the Shade of Ink
That's exactly the movie we watched, in 3-D.. The girls were so cute with their glasses ;-)
DeleteDoing my best to get healthy again, want to go running!!
Look at you, Miss Two Posts! You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteCentral heating is a must. I am no pioneer! Veggie stew and peppermint tea ought to both help keep you from getting sick again. So should sleeping in.
Glad you had such a great weekend that you could do a second list!
It was such an awesome weekend, I just had to do a part 2 :-)
DeleteI agree.. My friend told us about the apartment she had when she was 18.. She had to heat her bathwater with wood... I'm a high-maintenance girl!!
Feeling better already, mostly relaxing yesterday was so good!
Hope you have a great week, Dyanne!!
WOW...20 Things of Thankful in one weekend!!! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI had to look up a "Caipirinha"...sounds very tasty! :D
Thanks a lot! It was a really good week and weekend. It's good to be able to do stuff again now that we're not sick any more!
DeleteCaipirinha is my favorite cocktail, and it's for some reason quite difficult to get a good one nowadays..
Thanks so much, Lizzi! I'm still dealing with the aftermath of the bronchitis, but getting slowly better. Can't wait to go running again!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing that you have so many things to be thankful for that you need two lists.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! I think I'm still on the "I'm not bed ridden any more" hype, and it was a really, really good weekend!
DeleteI had a number 6 too yesterday ... so nice :) I'm a big fan of peppermint tea too!
ReplyDeleteIT is, especially since my phone conversations with my mom aren't usually so pleasant. I'm actually not the biggest fan of peppermint tea, I thought, but definitely re-discovered it recently.. Thanks for stopping by, Lizzy!
